Carrot Creative

We just opened up offices in the UAE so we're still working on building the team. To help give you an idea of what Carrot will be like, here is what it's like at our New York office!

From the minute you step into the Carrot office, you're going to feel welcome. Our office is totally open so people can easily communicate and chat with one another, and the few walls we do have are made of glass. We like to keep things light and fun around here - from our conference room with astroturf to College (a room where you can relax, nap, and watch tv). Jonas, the office dog, will likely be trotting around on any given day. But the most important aspect of the Carrot culture is that we collaborate well, and often. No one is ever restricted to just one role, ideas are always welcome, and we encourage our staff to get involved on every level.

The Carrot culture is best summed up by one thing - committees. Every person is responsible for heading up their own committee, which includes the Beer Committee, the Welcome Committee, the After Work Committee (yes, we hang out outside of the office), and the always relevant Committee Committee. As a part of Carrot, you're encouraged to bring your own personality and interests to the office and the committees allow you to do just that.

Carrot Labs is the secret underground lair of Carrot Creative, where some of our best ideas come to life. It's our chance to showcase some of our best homegrown ideas, anywhere from mobile platforms to microsites.

INTRODUCING PLATLAS

This is a love letter to our favorite social networks. Beginning with Facebook, we're taking a new (and interactive) perspective to how content is created and shared. Platlas has a little something for everyone: from the value of the perspectives showcased to the innovative way it was coded (devs, prepare to appreciate this beast).

Digital DUMBO

Digital DUMBO was created in 2009 as a way to allow Carrot to get to know its neighboring agencies and digital thought leaders. Each month a sponsor takes over the DUMBO LOFT and dictates programming for the three hour event where they can showcase a campaign or a new product. Past sponsors include Google, Bing, Aol, Ruder Finn, Hootsuite, and AT&T, all tied together with themes like wrestling in sumo suits and New York trivia. This monthly event is all about bringing together individuals in the digital space at a fun gathering so they can mingle, learn about new opportunities, and engage with the community. The Carrot staff is always involved in the event and can be found carrying our beers around in orange koozies.

NYDD

Mike Germano, Carrot's CEO and leader extraordinaire, was one of the three founding members of the New York Digital District. The NYDD was established in 2010 when a movement began, a movement that brought a flood of digital companies to the DUMBO area. The NYDD represents the interests of the DUMBO digital companies to local governments, works with the DUMBO BID to ensure these companies are well represented, and generally raises awareness about the amazing digital community that is DUMBO. NYDD's ultimate goal is to encourage the growth of businesses in the area while also making a name for the Digital District all over New York and across the globe!

Keep up with the district

Career Growth

Carrot is one big collaboration pool. We love to see our team getting involved in projects that interest them. Have a hankering to work on a mobile app? Let us know and we'll do our best to make sure you're placed on that project. Carrot is all about what makes you happy and where you want your career to grow. We appreciate initiative more than anything and are always enacting new suggestions from the staff. You're going to work with big and exciting brands while you're here, both on a team and individuality. It's all about how big your imagination and drive is.

Health & Retirement

We may be an agency that operates like a startup, but we still give great benefits. You'll be covered on the health, dental, and vision front, and will have the opportunity to contribute to a 401k.

Office Amenities

We want the Carrot office to be your home away from home. We have a fully stocked kitchen,
brew a fresh pot of coffee every morning, and have a keg for the late afternoon video game tournaments. Have a craving for something? Tell Rianna and she'll add it to the FreshDirect order. We have great hours; but on the off chance that you need to work late, we'll cover your dinner delivery.

Application

SUBMIT AN APPLICATION

We've been told this is the most fun application out there. Submit yours (be sure it goes through!) and you may even get featured on Submission Impossible. If your app doesn't go through, don't worry, it happens to the best of us. Just contact careers@carrotcreative.com and we'll sort it out.

CARROT WILL INTERNALLY DISTRIBUTE & REVIEW

Carrot is one big team, and we like everyone's input. You should know we're gonna pass around your stuff, look at your blog, and read your tweets. This takes time, and we're busy people (that's why we need you)!

WAIT AROUND RESTLESSLY

You know, you don't just have to wait around with baited breath. Reach out to us on social networks, make us a Spotify playlist, impress us. We've seen it all, so try to be creative.

Interview

ROUND ONE INTERVIEW - Rianna will contact you

If you've sparked our interest, Rianna or the head of your future (!) department will contact you via email to setup a short phone interview. Sometimes it's hard to get a read on people over the phone, so do your best to convey your personality to us.

SECOND ROUND INTERVIEW - meet with the partners

Wear what you'd like to wear to work everyday. We're relaxed and we want you to feel comfortable as well. Obviously arrive on time, but not too early please. Nobody wants to wait anxiously on the bright orange couch.

If you're out of town - second interview over Skype

We may love New York, but weWe also love people from different places. If you're not in the tri-state area, we'll have a Skype interview with you to get a feel for who you are. Eventually you'll have an in-person interview, but let's deal with that when we get to it.

Post-Interview

MORE WAITING - 1-2 weeks

Look, this stuff takes time and we know you're anxious to hear from us. Definitely check in with us, reach out on social networks, send us fun things (i.e. funny videos). Stay in touch with us but don't cross the line into creepy. There are a lot of things on our plates so please respect that.

EXTEND INITIAL OFFER - via an appropriate medium

Job offers have been given over Twitter DM, blog post comments, emails, and phone calls. Don't worry... your offer will come on the appropriate medium for your situation. We will leave it up to you to tell your current company/family/friends that you're joining the best agency ever.
